Many congratulations to Christiane Admiraal on her appointment to lead the secretariat for the International Technical Officials for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to be held in Marseille this coming July-August.

While Christiane has fulfilled this role for a number of years at the SOF Hyéres Olympic Classes regatta in the South of France and also at a number of Olympic Class world championships, she is the first non International Judge, non national of the host country and the first non male to be appointed to this position for the Games.

The secretariat support the Race Committee, the International Jury and the Technical Committee. Nowadays, this role requires a thorough understanding of the race organisation and managing dispute processes including scoring enquiries, equipment substation requests and Jury hearings. The secretariat also provides a key link between the officials and the Paris 2024 organisation.
