VOLUNTEERS

VOLUNTEERS ARE AT THE HEART OF WHAT WE DO - COME AND VOLUNTEER WITH US

VOLUNTEERING AT RLymYC

Our huge programme of events could not happen without an army of willing volunteers, mostly members but also non-members too.

Our community of helpers assist with junior sailing programmes, major events and more, both on and off the water.  Marklaying, knot tying, safety boat driving and so much more - help a little or a lot, its up to you.  Camaraderie, fun and friendship is guaranteed.
No prior knowledge is needed but we can offer training and certification in skills such as race coaching, first aid, safety duties and more.

We're counting on volunteers like you to make our award-winning Wednesday Junior Sailing (WJS) programme a success. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or new to the sport, there are plenty of opportunities both on and off the water to get involved. Your contribution will help more local children experience the joy of sailing while learning valuable seamanship skills.

No prior experience is necessary, and everyone is welcome! We especially need rowers to join us on the water, and there are plenty of roles for non-sailors ashore. Whether you're interested in crewing a RIB or providing shoreside assistance, your help is invaluable.

If you're passionate about sailing and want to make a difference in the community, we'd love to have you on board. Contact the club office to volunteer for Wednesday Junior Sailing today!
There are many ways to volunteer ashore if you prefer to stay on dry land! Throughout the year we run various events that do not run themselves. Our wonderful volunteers help with preparing and running events - for example at Christmas time there are trees to assemble, decorations to put up, Santa's Grotto to build, presents to wrap - and much more!

Or perhaps you'd like to be one of our flower team, helping to make to clubhouse look its best and welcoming to all.
Our various House Committees help to organise our social events, liaising with our Restaurant team to organise catering options and select wines.

We have volunteers who assist in some aspects of our IT and in maintaining and operating our audio / visual systems. In addition, the club's archives are maintained by a volunteer.

There is also a committee that carries out building maintenance and sees to the upkeep of the front garden.

How to Volunteer

Whether you're looking to get out on the water or help with Santas visit at Christmas time, we welcome your involvement.  We always appreciate volunteer support with a free drink token after each event.

heard what our members says

Great night last night in particular the junior supper was a huge hit. Lots of great feedback on the lasagna, a good-sized portion, tasted delicious and well presented. Please can you pass on to the chef and his team!

On 3rd August we held our Red Fox Annual General Meeting and Annual Dinner at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club. The whole event was a great success. Within days of appointing a new chef you produced an excellent menu for the dinner and arranged facilities for our AGM. You and your staff were always very efficient and friendly, and it all made for a very enjoyable evening. We showed our appreciation by doubling the normal gratuity.

We had an excellent Sunday lunch. Please warmly congratulate Darren, your new chef!

On behalf of myself and my family, we just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone involved in my father’s wake on Friday. It was utterly perfect, and I truly think he would have loved it. Please pass on our thanks to the lovely staff and yourself who made it run so smoothly. The weather was simply stunning, and the drinks went down a little too nicely!

The Burns Night was brilliant!  Many thanks to yourself and the team for doing a huge amount of work to make it a great success!  Everything was perfect!

I thought I would drop you a line to say 4 of us had very delicious sandwiches at the Club on Friday lunchtime. They were perfect for what we required – having popped into the Club for a glass of wine and a quick bite to eat.
